So the weekend went like this :

Tysern & I were chosen as top 10 teams winners of the Jetstar Light Challenge, and we were to be flown to Singapore from Penang, given RM70 allowance each and a great 3.5 star hotel room to stay in for the night, then fly back to Penang the next day. The RM70 was to be fully utilized from the savings of the air fare. RM70 = around SGD30

The check-in letter + my boarding pass after collection at Penang Airport, Bayan Lepas

Jetstar Asia A320!

Inside the airplane... great flight which takes about an hour to reach Singapore from Penang

Upon arrival at Changi Airport, Singapore

We were welcomed with an usher from the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel.
Shuttle service was provided from the airport to the hotel!

Grand Mercure Roxy @ Marine Parade road

Huge room with ample space, comfy beds, huge TV and every other thing you need!

Welcome note + maps around Singapore + souvenier from the hotel

We were even given welcome drinks - Singapore Sling!
Yes! Star Jump in the hotel room!

The Roxy Bar at the hotel which we went for our Singapore Sling

Alchoholic in the afternoon

Shows how relaxing it can be in Singapore especially in Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel!

After our drinks, we took off from the hotel to start our journey! How?
We took a bus from the bus stop right in front of the hotel. Real efficient bus service in Singapore!

Clean bus with lots of space. Bus ride from hotel to Singapore Flyer = SGD1
(SGD30 - SGD1 = SGD29)

The Singapore Flyer! Sadly it was closed for government internal event.

So we moved on to the National Art Museum of Singapore. Just passed by...

Our first main stop was Orchard Road of course! Went in The Cathay shopping mall and had lunch at the CHIP SHOP.

UK food with relatively great price

One for the camera!
So we tried the main specialties
Firstly - Fried Mars Bars with ice cream = SGD3.80
(SGD29 - SGD3.80 = SGD25.20)

Then of course we had something that could not be found in Malaysia!
Super Bacon Burger! SGD4.50
(SGD25.80 - SGD4.50 = SGD21.30)And then we continued our journey through Orchard Road.
Next stop was Takashimaya @ Ngee An City

While we were there, the Takashimaya Food Fest was happening, we managed to taste various Singaporean delights for FREE!

Continue walking and shopping from Ngee An City to Wisma Atria

Star Jump at Orchard Road - Shopping Heaven, in front of Tangs!

After a whole afternoon of shopping and walking Orchard Road, we headed to Newton Food Court by MRT = SGD0.80
(SGD21.30 - SGD0.80 = SGD20.50)

Of course we had more Singaporean food.
My Carrot cake = SGD2
(SGD20.50 - SGD2 = SGD18.50)

Tysern's Duck Rice = SGD2
(SGD20.50 - SGD2 = SGD18.50)

We also shared a plate of Fried Oyster (Hor Chien) = SGD4
(SGD18.50 - SGD2 = SGD16.50)

Yum yum big big oystersss

After dinner, we're off to Little India for some sightseeing and shopping.
MRT = SGD0.50
(SGD16.50 - SGD0.50 = SGD16)

Window shopped at the famous 24 hour opened Mustafa's Centre!

Then we walked from Serangoon road to Clarke Quay to kick off our night life!

90 Steps of great exercise...

Clarke Quay - Nightlife Heaven in Singapore! Must go

Was our favourite attraction of Singapore throughout the trip. STAR JUMP!

So we made our way to Zirca Mega Dance club, one of the largest in Clarke Quay

To our delight, it was our own Malaysian superstars, the Bass Agents spinning!
And thanks to them, we managed to enter under their guestlist, meaning we went clubbing in Singapore for FREE!

Ganjaguru & Didjital (MSIA)

ENJOY LIFE IN SINGAPORE! That was the end of our one day trip to Singapore.
Taxi back from Clarke Quay to hotel = SGD9
Cost shared (SGD16 - SGD4.50 = SGD11.50)

Our final expense needed to cover was transport from the hotel to Changi Airport to catch our flight back. Bus ride was only SGD1.50
(SGD11.50 - SGD1.50 = SGD10)

Bidding good bye to Singapore with SGD10 left and a great day of fun with only SGD20 spent!

Changi Airport offers free foot massage too! ENJOY till the very last moment...

So that ends my great one day trip thanks to JETSTAR ASIA, GRAND MERCURE ROXY HOTEL and all those who made our trip such cool and wonderful. Till the next time, see ya!
